I've always been a reader first. When everything gets loud, I've always been able to disappear into a book and come back feeling more like myself. Romance, specifically. The kind with equally strong heroes and heroines and the certainty that everything is going to work out.
I spent a lot of years in corporate jobs telling myself I'd write "eventually." Eventually finally showed up, and I started writing... and didn't stop. Keeping It Local is my debut novel. It's set in Port St. Clair, a fictional beachside town that feels like the best summer weekend you've always wanted but didn't let yourself have. It's the story of Beth, who finally gives herself permission to be a little bit brave.
I wrote this book during nap times and late nights after everyone else in my house had gone to bed. I wrote it because I needed to. And I hope reading it feels the same way.
When I'm not in Port St. Clair, I'm in the Midwest and livewo littles who believe bedtime is a suggestion (we're working on it!) full-time job that has absolutely nothing to do with romance novels. I love, which is probably why every story I write ends up somewhere near water. If you're someone who reads romance during the 20 minutes of quiet you carve out for yourself each day... Hi!
